But you,
beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy
Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord
Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a
distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating
even the garment defiled by the flesh. –
Jude 20-23
We don’t get to share our
faith with everyone the same way because everyone has different needs. We have
to be wise in how we deal with people.
There are two examples here
of how to deal with those who need the gospel.
On some show a distinction
by having compassion
On some we need to hate
their sin and snatch them from the fires of destruction
We can love some to Jesus,
others need to be clearly shown the fate of not being saved.
Our job is to make a
difference no matter who we witness to. We must rely on the Holy Spirit to work
on hearts and to do His work.
