In the last time

But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. – Jude 17-19

There will be mockers in the last time

They will walk according to their own lusts

They will be sensual

They will cause divisions

They will not have Spirit

Welcome to 2021.

I realise that the ‘last times’ are a long time, but every year I live seems more like the days prophesied here. Evil men and seducers have waxed worse and worse as we see the day approaching.

There are things going on today that I could never have imagined when I was in my twenties. It’s a good thing because I would have been shocked and terrified. Who would have believed the kinds of news stories we see today? You could not have sold in a novel.

But here it is – right in front of us. There are mockers of the faith aplenty. People do what is right in their eyes. Sensuality is rampant. We are more divided than we ever have been. The world is falling apart.

And, of course, they don’t have the Holy Spirit. That’s why this world is so blind to the impact of that they are doing.

We can’t fix them, only the Holy Spirit can but in order to have Him they must forsake all that is so important to them for eternal things.

Our lives must reflect that hope to draw them to Him.
