Alpha and Omega

 

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” – Revelation 1.7-8

 

‘The Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End’ is a marvellous description of Jesus. There was not a time when He was not and there will never be a time when He will not be. He is the I AM.

 

He always was in the present tense.

 

That means He transcends the bonds of time and circumstance. That means nothing catches Him off guard. It means there is nothing new with Him

 

There are terrible and tumultuous times coming, but we can be sure of one thing – Jesus will not change.

 

That kind of constancy ought to be a real blessing for us. The Tribulation will be a time of change and upheaval but Jesus will be the same Jesus that He was at Creation, that He is today, and that He will be when He establishes His kingdom on earth
