Forever

His name shall endure forever;
His name shall continue as long as the sun.
And men shall be blessed in Him;
All nations shall call Him blessed.
Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel,
Who only does wondrous things!
And blessed be His glorious name forever!
And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen. – Psalm 72.17-19

People come and people go. Nations come and nations go. Mighty empire come and go. Fads and trends and fashions and technology all come and go. It is a whole different world that it was when I was growing up.

Eventually everything changes.

Everything but one, everything but God.

Our God endures for ever, day by day the same. His name will endure through it all no matter what else happens here on earth. God’s name will remain no matter who is elected or how bad the economy gets who what natural disasters occur.

None of us can know the future. We can’t know what is even going to happen later today, much less tomorrow or next week or next year. We don’t know what news weight get tomorrow or what that phone call or text or message is going to bring. But I can know this – God will be the unchangeable and unchanging forever and forever. He will keep offering His blessings to all who will turn to Him.

God’s name is a strong and mighty tower
God’s name is Awesome
God’s name never changes
God’s name is forever

What better to put our faith in than the name of our Jehovah God? It is the one thing I can always trust.

Forever. Eternal. Unchangeable. Immutable.

That is my hope no matter what comes my way.
