Go out with joy

For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” – Isaiah 55.12-13

One day all of this realities of this broken world are going to be changed. The anger and hatred and death and destruction and wars and pain and tears and agony and shame will all be cut. Sin will finally be vanquished.

The day is coming when we will be able to go out, not into a world full of sin and sorrow, but. To go out with the joy of the Lord. Nature itself will sing with joy and the trees of the filed will clap their hands. The thorns and briars that were a part of the curse of sin will be replaced with shade trees.

There is more to life that just this short span of 70-80 years here on earth. If this was all our hope there would not be much hope. But we have the assured hope of eternity with our God in a place of perfect peace and where joy will reign.

Oh for that day of unbridled joy.
