The marriage supper

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. – Revelation 19-7-9

Weddings are normally big special events. I think I will keep my opinion of opulent and extravagant costly wedding to myself, weddings are a big deal. They are normally a time of celebration no matter how big or small or costly or thrifty they are a day of happiness and excitement.

Even Jesus celebrated a wedding and chose one to perform His first public miracle.

What a great day of celebration is coming. The Lord God omnipotent reigns and one day the Lamb of God will fully take His wife. On that great wedding day the church will well and fully be joined to Him forever.

On that day all of the waiting and trials and preparation will be worth it all. At the great marriage feast we will sit down and rejoice in our union with Jesus Christ.

I have seen the excitement of young brides as they look forward to their wedding day. It is fun to see their anticipation. All the troubles pale in comparison. I have seen them writing out their married name. Their future husband is always in their minds.

Our future is secure. The church is the bride of Christ and He ought to be our focus even when things are looking bad around us.  Clothed in the white robes of His righteousness let us live daily in anticipation of that day.
