Shun and refuse and stay away from babblings. We know what babblings are without even looking it up. It’s the ‘blah, blah, blah, blahs’ that we get involved in. It’s the arguing for the sake of arguing. It’s the fighting just to prove I am right and to get in the last word.
We can all get caught up in the blah, blah, blahing sometimes. Social media has made it inevitable. I think too many folks like me just like to babble anyway and now we have platforms designed for that.
But God directly tells us to shun those things, and He gives us a reason for it. Babblings always bring ungodliness. We can’t be godly if we are caught up in useless and wasteful discussions.
This fits right with the previous passage. If we are indeed diligently striving to show ourselves worthy of serving God we certainly are not going to have the time to babble and if we have time to babble we don’t have the time to apply ourselves to our efforts to rightly serve God.
Stay on track. We don’t have time for babbling.
