Conduct

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. – 2 Peter 3.10-13

We don’t know when Jesus is coming. He will come as a thief in the night when He is least expected. We can’t wait till the last minute to get our lives right in time for Him to come back.

The only way for us to God to the world is through our holy conduct and through our godliness. That kind of living is surely going to make us stand out. It is going to make some folks uncomfortable because our holy living and our godliness is going to make their godliness and unholiness ever more obvious and nobody wants that.

The days are growing short. We are the only ones who can make a difference. There has never been a more important time than now for us to live godly and conduct ourselves properly and yet so many Christians today think nothing of their behaviour.

Does it really make a difference? It makes all the difference in the world.
