Open to their prayer

For

“He who would love life

And see good days,

Let him refrain his tongue from evil,

And his lips from speaking deceit.

Let him turn away from evil and do good;

Let him seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their prayers;

But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” – 1 Peter 3.10-12

So doing the things we talked about yesterday will help us enjoy life and see good days. Here we see another benefit. When we are striving for God’s notion of a good life we can trust that God will hear our prayers.

We know that God won’t hear our prayers when we have sin that we won’t deal with. We can also God hears the prayers of those who are striving to live in Christ’s righteousness.

God’s eyes and His ears are open to the righteous. We can take it that God sees and hears when we live righteously. That’s why part of our prayer must be confession of our sins.

God will hear our prayers of confession. He delights to hear the prayers of those who are striving to walk in His righteousness. Let’s keep our conduct right so that we can pray with confidence.
