Then the fire of the Lord fell

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that You are the LORD God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again." When the 450 Baalite prophets prayed and cried and jumped up and down and cut themselves for the whole day there was no voice, no answer, and no one paid attention.

Elijah was a man just like us. The prayer of this righteous man availed much. When Elijah prayed a simple prayer fire fell from heaven. When he prayed there was a voice. When he prayed there was an answer. When Elijah prayed Someone paid attention.
