Give an answer

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; -1 Peter 3.15

Sanctify God in your hearts. Set them apart for Him. Dedicate our hearts to the Lord that we might always be ready to give people an answer about why we see to have hope.

Of course, that means that we need to live like we have hope. We can’t be dragged down by the world. We can’t grovel in misery along with the rest of the world and go along with them in despair.

We have respair in Christ and our lives need to reflect. We are certain to come across as a bit peculiar when everyone else is down and hopeless when We have this overabounding hope in our walk.

Now, if our lives reflect that hope, people are going to see it and we are going to have the opportunity to share with them that we have hope because no matter what happens here my eternity is secure. At the end, no matter what, it is going to get better. I am going to lay aside the trials and troubles of this world and exchange them for an eternity in heaven. The great part of that is that they too can have that same hope and we can share it with them.
