The Great White Throne

 

And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books… And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. - Revelation 20:12,15

 

Judgement is coming for the world. Those who are in the Book of Life have been judged based on the finished work of Christ at the Bema seat. We have been declared righteous by Jesus’ righteousness and our place is secure.

 

But now its time for the world’s judgement at the great white throne. Now is the time for judgement on all those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Our judgement will be based on the finished work of Christ. The world’s judgement will be based on their works.

 

Heartbreaking news because all of men’s work will fall short because all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

 

It won’t be much of a judgement. Everyone will be found guilty. The penalty? Eternal separation in the Lake of Fire.

 

That’s serious. We can see why God gives man chance after chance to have their guilt  covered by the blood of Christ.

 

That’s why our task of sharing the gospel is so important. We have the way to escape this judgement. We have the message of Christ. We must share that message before it is too late.
