Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude
of counsellors there is safety. – Proverbs 11.14
What do you do when you don’t know what to do? What do
you do when there don’t seem to be any answers and you’ve prayed and studied
and still you don’t know what to do?
We are blessed of course that we can always go to the
Lord, and we should always, always go to Him. We ought to read His word and
pray and do whatever we can to discern His way.
But there are still times when we don’t know what to
do.
That is why we are told that ‘where there is no counsel
we fail and in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
We are blessed in the fact that God doesn’t leave us
all alone without any human help. He gives us each other to go to for prayer
and advice and a listening ear and sometimes just a shoulder to cry on.
We don’t have to
face difficult situations alone. First and foremost we have the Holy Spirit to
guide us, we have His word, and lets never forget the importance of getting counsel
and advice from each other.
