“Do not prattle,” you say to those who
prophesy. So they shall not prophesy to you; They shall not return insult for
insult. You who are named the house of Jacob: “Is the Spirit of the LORD
restricted? Are these His doings? Do not My words do good To him who walks
uprightly? – Micah 2v6-7
Micah felt like most preachers feel at one time or another. The people
were tired of it and described the prophecy like a drip of water. ‘Stop the
dripping, would you?’ the people said.
That sounds like a lot of people who don’t want to hear God’s word.
They turn off their ears and tell the believer to stop their babbling. The
problem is that those words do not deny the message or the God behind it.
God’s word has the power to do great good but man tends to reject it.
That should not be a surprise. We know that the Light entered the world the
world rejected the Light. We should not be surprised when people reject.
Even when rejected the power of God’s word remains.
